A Familiar Game, Made Deliberate
Some objects exist to help us work faster.
Others exist to give us a moment away from that rhythm.
Tic Tac Toe is one of the simplest games there is. Two players. A small grid. A short pause in the day. It doesn’t demand attention for long, but it asks you to be present while you’re there.
Our Tic Tac Toe set was designed with that same restraint in mind.
The base is machined from a single solid block of aluminium. Heavy enough to feel grounded, precise enough to feel resolved. The grid is formed through machining alone, without markings or decoration. Nothing is added after the fact.
The playing pieces follow the same approach. Five mirror polished stainless steel pawns represent the circles. Five black anodised aluminium pawns represent the crosses. Each is individually CNC machined and finished, designed to feel distinct in the hand and clear on the board.
There is no novelty here. No attempt to reinvent the game. Just a familiar object, reduced to its essential elements and made with care.
This is a piece intended to live on a desk or table. Something to return to between tasks. Something that invites a short break without becoming a distraction. A reminder that not every object needs to justify itself through efficiency.
Sometimes, the most useful thing an object can do is create a moment of pause.
